With the combination of great pitching, timely hitting and unbelievable defense, the Wrentham U12 Softball team won the Memorial Day Tourney, hosted by Plainville. The team swept through the tourney, finishing 6-0. In the seeding games, the team beat Shrewsbury on Friday, 3-1. Then on Saturday, they beat Norfolk 7-4 and Plainville 9-6 to earn a #1 seed. The team took advantage of the #1 seed on Sunday, by beating Milford 9-1, In the semi-finals they beat a very tough Taunton 4-3. They then had to play another game 20 minutes later, and they faced a strong RI Liberty team. The Wrentham Warriors fell behind 1-0 in the 1st inning, but stormed back to win the game 7-5, and thus win the tourney.
The players are Meg Rico, Jenna Nickerson, Ellen Girouard, Claire Judson, Sara Hedtler, Katie McEachern, Meg McMorrow, Emily Pickett, Ashley Goode, Juliann McEachern, Caroline Horne and Sara Annis. The team is coached by Dave Hedtler,Lloyd Pickett and Chuck Horne.
